At Jibas Recycling, we're committed to creating a sustainable future by reducing waste and promoting recycling within our community. Founded by Mr. Thembani Kwenzankwenkosi Xulu in 2014, our company operates from the Nkandla Landfill site in KwaZulu Natal. We specialize in recycling materials like aluminum cans, scrap metals, PET bottles, used paper, and cardboard.
About Us
Jibas Recycling was founded by Mr. Thembani Kwenzankwenkosi Xulu, a passionate advocate for environmental sustainability. With a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of South Africa and further training in waste management from Khabokedi Waste Management, Mr. Xulu leads our company with a vision to make Nkandla and its surroundings cleaner and greener.

Our Mission
To reduce recyclable waste in the immediate community by incentivizing households to collect and sell their waste materials to Jibas Recycling. To educate households on the benefits of maintaining a waste-free environment through educational programs in collaboration with other waste management stakeholders.
Development Impact
Creating 20 employment opportunities, sustaining 15 jobs, and generating an additional 15 jobs. Collecting 1,176 tons of waste annually, equivalent to 98 tons per month.
Our Services
What We Do Jibas Recycling specializes in the collection, sorting, storage, and sale of recyclable waste materials. Our primary focus is on:
Plastics/Bottles
support the "Zero Plastics to Landfill" initiative aiming for no plastics in landfills by 2030.
Papers/Cardboard
The paper recycling sector is flourishing, with a target recycling rate of 70% achieved ahead of schedule.
Glass
Through initiatives by "The Glass Recycling Company," the glass recycling rate has improved significantly.
Metals
We recycle scrap metal from various sources, including industrial waste and aluminum cans.
